About Pattison Lodge
Pattison Lodge was formed in 1862, in the 25th year of the reign of Queen Victoria, Abraham Lincoln was President and the American Civil war was raging.
Originally based in Woolwich, the lodge was initially formed of shopkeepers – meetings were held on Wednesday afternoons to coincide with Woolwich’s reduced trading hours at the time.
Since the Lodge’s inception 163 years ago to present day Pattison remains a ‘Banner’ lodge, Past Masters present their Banner to the Lodge, typically displaying their coat of arms and years of office as a contribution to Lodge history and to adorn our Lodge room. Members are allowed considerable flexibility on the content of their banner to reflect their own personal interests and achievements, once a prevalent sight in Masonry unfortunately Pattison is now one of the very few Lodges within the United Kingdom to uphold this tradition.
Would you like to know more?
If you are looking to join Freemasonry, a member of Pattison Lodge would be happy to speak with you.
After an initial discussion, we would look to meet with you before holding an informal interview.
The Lodge meets five times a year and as result it can mean a bit of a wait before joining . During this time you will be welcome to attend any social functions we may have such as our December Christmas dinner and annual Ladies Weekend.
